Hike to Mavericks Beach!
Our anchor event today is Mavericks Beach (Yes, THAT Mavericks — known for the “Big Wave” surfing competition).
Hike Along “Mavericks Beach” (West Shoreline Access)
The address of the trailhead to Mavericks is “Unnamed Road, Half Moon Bay, CA 94019” so it might help you to type in these coordinates into Google Maps: FGX3+3C El Granada, California.
It’s an easy flat hike (about 1.5 miles round trip). Our 4 year old loved it.
Now, we made it to the ocean and it was a relatively calm day:
You’re at the ocean where you’re bound to find cool stuff washed up: c
And is this a porpoise or shark or something else!?
We headed back on our hike along the harbor — looks like a perfect place for paddle boarding:
And there were all sorts of other fun artsy things along the hike:
How cool is this bench?
After hiking to Mavericks Beach, we usually go get coffee at The Press (they serve food too) or eat at:
- Princeton by the Sea. Check out our Awesome Day Trip to Princeton by the Sea [Beach + Yummy Food] to see the fun eateries we’ve tried.
- Pillar Point Harbor (check out our article on our visit to Ketch Joanne, Sam’s Chowderhouse and some others)
- Moss Beach Distillery (140 Beach Way, Moss Beach, CA 94038)
